Featured Speakers Include U.S. Senator Cornyn, State Officials
Despite a winter storm that rolled in to the state, hundreds of members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women turned out for Legislation Day 2023 recently. TFRW Vice President for Legislation Robbi Hull was unfazed by the many challenges she faced including a fierce winter ice storm that tested everyone's flexibility.
Focusing on legislative education and advocate training, members learned from state senators and representatives about the pathway and hurdles bills take through the Texas legislature. Members participated in a mock committee hearing and floor vote to better understand the process.
Featured speakers included U.S. Senator John Cornyn, Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, and newly appointed Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson. NFRW 1st Vice President Vanessa LaFranco addressed the gathering, and resolutions honoring TFRW were read from both the Texas Senate and House.
