Republican Nominee for U.S. House, Nevada's 3rd District

By Nancy Johnson, Missouri

April Becker’s story is today’s American story. As a young woman, April successfully put herself through college and law school at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Today, she owns her own law firm and is a top-rated litigator and real estate attorney in Las Vegas.

Enjoying her life as a wife, mother and business owner, April -- like all Americans -- was devastated by the dark period that began with the COVID pandemic in the spring of 2020. By April of 2020, Nevada’s unemployment rate was 28.2%. In 2021, as the area struggled to right itself, Democrat Congresswoman Susie Lee entered her term voting for Biden Administration policies 100% of the time.

April spoke to the Nevada Globe in May about her decision to seek office in the state's 3rd congressional district. “I knew that the promises made by Biden and his administration, if he were to win, would be disastrous–and I was right. I felt like I had to do it. This administration has been a disaster with our border, Afghanistan, inflation– everything around us seems to be crumbling. I know I am doing the right thing."

In June, April won the Republican primary with 64.8% of the vote. “We may have won this battle, but now we face Democrat Representative Susie Lee, Pelosi’s rubber stamp, in November. Our fight to secure a conservative House majority starts now," she said in a social media post.

Currently, April holds an advantage over her Democrat opponent and intends to expand that lead with her conservative message---a message plainly and forcefully spoken. She wants what the district wants: foremost, leadership with honesty and policies that put the people first. Her agenda includes education reforms, a more favorable taxation structure that encourages the entrepreneurial spirit, commonsense energy policies, no more deficit spending to get inflation under control, and diminished reliance on China.

April is listed on the National Republican Congressional Committee's Young Gun program. Her race is rated a toss-up by the Cook Political Report. She is a member of Spring Mountain Republican Women.
