Happy 231st Birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard

The Coast Guard is unique among our military services. During peace time, it belongs to the Department of Homeland Security but can be transferred to the Department off Defense by the President when operations require their service. Daily, the Coast Guard patrols our coasts for drug smugglers, human trafficking, and both domestic and international terrorism.

With at least three members suffering the loss of homes in the recent flooding in Eastern Kentucky, the Kentucky Federation of Republican Women has been working on flood relief efforts for the Appalachian Region and has set up a PayPal donation page for contributions.
