Club Hosts Flag Day, Birthday Bash

Garrett County Republican Women's Club and Garrett County Republican Central Committee sponsored a Flag Day and birthday bash on Saturday, June 14. They celebrated Flag Day, the Army’s 250th birthday, and President Trump’s 79th Birthday. There were signs celebrating Trump’s second administration’s accomplishments, hot dogs, birthday cake, and games for the kids.

Central Committee Chair Luanne Ruddell noted that there was a great turnout and everyone had a great time. "Many stopped to enjoy the food and camaraderie with their neighbors," Ruddell said. "State Senator Mike McKay and retired Delegate Wendell Beitzel both attended and enjoyed talking with local constituents and friends."

Club president Patty Hammond said, "Several women from the club and the committee put many hours into creating the signs, finding the venue, and ordering the food and games to entertain the children. Even the husbands helped with the setup and tended the grill to make sure there were hot dogs for everyone." 

The most heartwarming part of the event was the overwhelming support from the passing motorists. Their honking horns and enthusiastic gestures of encouragement made the experience truly worthwhile.
