Club Sponsors July School Supply Drive for CASA of Tulare County

Visalia Republican Women Federated (VRWF) hosted a school supply drive in July to help local foster youth get off to a great start with the school year. Items donated included colored pencils, pencil boxes and pouches, highlighters, notebooks, rulers, scissors, glue sticks, erasers, lined paper, wooden and mechanical pencils, and other useful supplies. A total of 1,321 school supply items were collected.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Tulare County works to provide abused and neglected children in the foster care system with an advocate to speak on their behalf. They envision a safe and secure world where every foster youth with a CASA advocate discovers their full potential and thrives in the community.

The school supply donation was presented by Ellen Woitalla, VRWF Caring for America Chair, to Albert Ramos, CASA Executive Director, and his staff on Monday, August 4. In attendance were Sara Smith, VRWF President, and VRWF members Margaret Hall and Thea Chapman.
