Club Inducts Congressman Cole, Senator Lankford as Honorary Members

On August 23 at the regular monthly meeting, Cleveland County Republican Women's Club (CCRWC) inducted Congressman Tom Cole and U.S. Senator James Lankford as Honorary Lifetime Members. Congressman Cole appeared in person. Due to scheduling conflicts, Senator Lankford did not attend, but was able to send a video accepting the induction.

During this time, CCRWC members and guests were treated with a rich serving of hors d'oeuvres, non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a beautiful cake that was furnished by Donna Cheek, 3rd Vice President of the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women.

In addition to the induction ceremony, two CCRWC members received awards for their long-time membership. Jeanette Coker received a "Special Recognition Certificate" and "NFRW Lapel Pin." Jeanette has been a member of CCRWC since at least 1986. Jeanine Rainwater (who previously was awarded the NFRW Lapel Pin) has been a member of CCRWC for at least 30 years.

The evening was great! We garnered 18 new members: three primaries and 15 associates.We made a small profit but the main thing: there was a lot of laughter, smiles, handshakes and hugs. Some old wounds were healed, new alliances and friendships made, and past broken relationships mended. That is worth much more than any amount of money we could have made.
