ORLANDO, Fla. – Texas Republican leader Zenia Warren was awarded the prestigious Ronald Reagan Leadership Award during the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) 43rd Biennial Convention set Sept. 25-28 in Orlando, Fla. A resident of Killeen and president of the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW), Warren received the award at a luncheon on Sept. 27.
The award was established by the NFRW in 2005 to recognize the outstanding leadership of one state president and is presented every two years at the biennial convention. Warren and four other state presidents were selected as nominees based on overall leadership and initiation of new programs, increases in membership, participation in national programs, and excellence in public relations and campaign efforts.
Warren’s goal of “Uniting Republican Women for Texas” was evident in all TFRW programs during her term. Many committees were revamped, and community projects focused on domestic violence awareness and the border. In 2024, TFRW offered incentives for 3,000 members to attend the state Republican convention. One million potential voters were called and more than half a million new Republican voters were registered.
These state presidents are finalists in the Reagan Award contest:
- Stephanie Garrett, Ohio
- Sharon Lloyd, Arkansas
- Pat Lorenzen, Arizona
- Kay Wildt, North
Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest grassroots Republican women’s organization in the country. Building leaders, energizing communities and keeping America strong, NFRW empowers women from all backgrounds in the political process and provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
