The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women hosted its biennial convention, "Women Leading the Way," on August 21-22.
NFRW President Martha Jenkins served as special guest, as the group celebrated America's 250 years of rich history with a trivia contest and a costume contest of historical women. The Liberty Tea fundraiser benefitted candidates. Members were informed about the Caring for America project and learned about hunger. The group also learned about an important constitutional amendment on the November ballot.
Speakers included Kentucky Treasurer Mark Metcalf, congressional candidates Ed Gallrein and Dr. Ralph Alvarado, Sen. McConnell's Kentucky Director Robbin Taylor, Congressman Rogers' Chief of Staff Karen Kelly, and Vice President Vance's step-mother Cheryl Bowman. Barbara Ellerbrook and Gail Russell joined the KFRW Hall of Fame. Leadership Institute's Holly Horn and NFRW President Martha Jenkins presented workshops.
