ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Ann Schockett, President of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), issued this statement regarding President Trump's live address from the Oval Office to update the nation on the coronavirus outbreak.

"In last night's message to the American people, President Trump continued to protect our nation and lead with decisive action and positive results by steering the ship of state with confidence and reassurance. His rapid, resolute and measured actions in handling the coronavirus outbreak have already gone a long way to prevent the rapid spread as has been experienced in other countries."

Schockett continued, "The National Federation of Republican Women stands behind our President and lauds his professional and critical response. His initiatives including providing financial relief for American workers and low interest loans for small business, producing more testing kits, working with the health insurance industry to waive copayments for treatments and extend insurance coverage for those treatments as well as aggressively cutting red tape and streamlining the process to develop a vaccine show why, in his words, 'No nation is more prepared or as resilient.'"

Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest grassroots Republican women’s organization in the nation. NFRW provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas. NFRW objectives are to recruit, train and elect Republican candidates, promote the principles of the Republican Party, educate the public and protect the integrity of our electoral process.
