Elected to the U.S. Congress, Arizona's 8th District

Debbie Lesko emerged victorious in her bid for the vacant U.S. House of Representatives seat in Arizona's Congressional District 8. The special election for this seat was April 24.

Lesko is a 20-year member of the National Federation of Republican Women through the Arizona Federation's Arrowhead Republican Women's Club. She has been a dedicated and active member of her local club, and has served on the Executive Committee and as a committee chairman.

Prior to running for Congress, Lesko served in the state Senate, where her valued leadership skills resulted in her election as Senate President Pro Tempore and appointment as Chairman of the influential Senate Appropriations Committee. Her election in 2008 to the Arizona House of Representatives followed a decade of community service on behalf of local schools, on municipal planning councils, and as an advisory council member of Faith House Domestic Violence Shelter.

Known as a tireless champion of advancing education goals and enforcing the highest standards of government performance, Lesko is highly regarded for refusing to shrink from the most challenging tasks presented.
