State Federation President Receives Honor at National Convention

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 16, 2017

PHILADELPHIA – Florida Republican leader Dena Stebbins DeCamp was awarded the prestigious Ronald Reagan Leadership Award during the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) 39th Biennial Convention held Sept. 14-17 in Philadelphia.

A resident of Lakeland and president of the Florida Federation of Republican Women, DeCamp received the award at a luncheon on Sept. 16.

The award was established by the NFRW in 2005 to recognize the outstanding leadership of one state president and is presented every two years at the biennial convention.

DeCamp and four other state presidents were selected as nominees based on overall leadership and initiation of new programs, increases in membership, participation in national programs, and excellence in public relations and campaign efforts.

DeCamp was elected president of the Florida Federation of Republican Women after serving as 1st and 2nd vice presidents and in several other state offices. From 2009-2014, she was president of Republican Women Federated of Lakeland and served as volunteer, team leader and field director for several campaigns. In 2014, Florida Gov. Rick Scott presented DeCamp with the Republican Party of Florida Volunteer of the Year Award. She is the owner and operator of a small custom embroidery shop and is married to Dr. Nelson DeCamp.

These state presidents are finalists in the Reagan Award contest:

  • Mary Barket, Pennsylvania
  • Lyn Bliss, Ohio
  • Theresa Kosmoski, Texas
  • Charlotte Rasmussen, Wisconsin

Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest and most influential Republican women's group in the nation, proudly representing the party that first made it possible for women to vote in the U.S. The NFRW works to increase the effectiveness and relevance of women in the cause of good government. Our mission remains to recruit and elect Republican candidates, promote the principles of the Republican Party, educate the public, and inform the media.
