ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Eileen Sobjack, President of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), issued this statement on today's U.S. Supreme Court ruling:

“The National Federation of Republican Women supports today’s historic U.S. Supreme Court ruling that returns the regulation of abortion back to state governments.

“While the abortion issue evokes strong emotions on all sides, I urge Americans to respond to this ruling in a civil, peaceful and constitutional manner, and without jeopardizing the safety of the justices or their loved ones.

“For the last several years, the Left has been politicizing the Supreme Court and making it a weapon. This dangerous agenda has put our justices in harm’s way and threatens to undermine the role and independence of our co-equal third branch of government.

“The NFRW continues to stand guard against any effort to erode the Supreme Court’s role as a vital institution. It is imperative that we have a fair and impartial judiciary to maintain a balance in our government.”

Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest grassroots Republican women’s organization in the country. Building leaders, energizing communities and keeping America strong, NFRW empowers women from all backgrounds in the political process and provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
