Recognizing Gold Star Mothers and Families Day

On the last Sunday of September, Gold Star Mothers and military families who lost their spouse, child, or parent -- specifically those who died during active duty -- will gather around the country to recognize and honor their fallen service members. The distinction of being a Gold Star Mother or family member is not something these individuals want but they bear that title with pride for their loved one's sacrifice.
