On this 84th Birthday of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, we thank this incredible volunteer workforce of watercraft operators, pilots, medical staff, clergy, musicians, cyber security professionals and so many other outstanding professionals for their ongoing and invaluable assistance to the Coast Guard and its missions.

National Flag Day is June 14, the date that the national flag was officially adopted 246 years ago in 1777.

The U.S. Army will celebrate its 248th birthday on June 14, the same day we celebrate Flag Day. Older than the United States of America, the U.S. Army started as an all-volunteer army when it was created in 1775.
